Selcuk Yorgancioglu is a Senior Partner at Abraaj Capital with prime responsibility for Turkey. He currently operates out of the firm’s Dubai and Istanbul offices.
Prior to joining Abraaj Capital in 2008, Mr. Yorgancioglu worked for Deutsche Bank in London as a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Emerging Markets Investment Banking Team. In his last year at DB, he took up the post of Deutsche Bank Group CEO in Turkey, responsible for banking, brokerage, asset management and mortgage lending business.
Prior to this, Mr. Yorgancioglu served as an Executive Vice President and head of investment banking at Finansbank Group in Turkey, where he also served on the board of the Group’s asset management business.
Mr. Yorgancioglu started his career at Interbank and between 1992 and 1998 he worked for ABN AMRO Group out of Amsterdam and London as part of the Emerging Markets Corporate Finance Group. His last position there was with Equity Capital Markets JV, ABN AMRO-Rothschild in London. Throughout this period, he focused on Emerging Europe, worked on transactions and built connections with corporations and governments in Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania.
Mr. Yorgancioglu is a graduate of Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, and has an MBA Finance from University of New Haven, CT. He serves as the Vice Chairman on the boards of Acibadem Hospitals, Acibadem Insurance Company, A+ Catering, APM Project Management and Numarine Yachts.
